8 month old teething and food?

Morning all,

Little man is 8 1/2 months old and has been absolutely great with food, I mean, he would eat anything!!

The last couple of weeks he's really struggling with his first teeth coming through (nothing seems to touch it) and has a stinking cold (not sure if they're related?!), but anyway, he's completely gone off food, and will keep having maybe two spoons, then refuses more.

Usually a yoghurt would do the trick, but not even wanting those now too!!

Should I be worried about this, or is it usually the kind of thing that passes one the teeth arrive?! (Think theres 5 all pushing at the surface from what I can see . . . Aargh!!)

8.5 months is still very little and relatively early into the weaning process. Many babies are barely having any solids still by that age, despite best efforts!

Sounds like he's a good eater generally, and it's no surprise teeth coming through are putting him off. Is he still having plenty of milk? If so I wouldn't worry, and see how he gets on once teeth have broken through and he's less sore.

Very, very normal for babies to go off solids and prefer their milk when teething. Don’t worry!

Sounds like my son. He's 10 months old and once he starts getting a tooth in he goes completely off food and will have the minimum amount of milk he can survive off. Once the tooth cut through he's back to his usual self.
