Chicken pox queries, can anyone help?

ds2 has lots of red raised blisters on his bum, a really sore one on his willy, and a few spots on his back/front. He isn't really complaining of pain or itching, but they do look quite nasty. Is it chicken pox? Should I be worrying? I haven't really come across this before, neither dh nor I has had chicken pox. Can I still take him out (we need to weed the allotment) or does he need to be kept at home? He doesn't seem generally ill, but will that change? The spots weren't there last night.

Hi, where have you been??? Anyway, it was really bad, I stayed in bed for the first 5 days. couldn't really eat as I had blisters in my throat as well (blisters everywhere actually). Sorry, don't want to scare you, you might escape it! However, I'd give a thought on how to get organized in case you get it. Needless to say that I'd be happy to help. Buy loads of vitamin E oil for the scars!!!

Right, I have to make a decision - we really need to got o the allotment today and do weeding/planting/fruit picking. There are lots of old people there in varying conditions of frailty, but we can probably avoid getting too close. ds2 will roam a bit though, they always do, so we couldn't guarantee him not sneezing over someone.

Should I take him, or keep him at home and send dh?

I will take the advice of the first person who posts after this

I think that today he must be at his most infective stage. I wouldn't know what to do really. If old people are on other side of fences then take him. If he can go nearer (like speak to) than I probably wouldn't.
