I feel everything...am I the only one?

This sounds crazy but I'm hypersensitive to my own body. I feel/notice every ache, itch, tingle, pain. It can be the tiniest thing but I pick it up instantly. Dh thinks I'm nuts always having "something". I even tune into my breathing way too frequently. Is this a "thing"?!

I’m the same! It’s a blessing to be so self aware. I’m an empath so I think this is why. I never understand how some people don’t always notice things within their bodies.

I'm like this. I also find myself, on occasion, doing things like unconsciously raising my arm and putting my finger directly on a teeny tiny crumb on my scalp (I have lots of hair)....I have no idea how I knew it was there. I often wonder how tiny flies can land on people and they don't know it's there, I feel every little thing.

I'm the same, but I have health anxiety so I know why I do it. I can also "create" aches and pains Blush

everycloud30 · 21/01/2019 18:53

@Malibucyprus I can create everything too. My mind goes from 0-60 in a millisecond.

@everycloud30 it’s awful isn’t it. The more you concentrate on something, the worse it gets. It’s a viscious circle that I can’t seem to break.
It’s not just physical for me either, I read far too much into other people too, did they look at me funny? Do they not like me? Paranoia at its best Sad

cricketmum84 · 21/01/2019 21:48

I'm the same, I notice every single feeling although I have health anxiety so probably not quite the same.

Every little twinge, pain, ache sets me off. Don't even get me started on the breathing!

Notsoaccidentproneanymore · 21/01/2019 21:52

I’m like that too. It’s very tiring being hyper aware.

reenchantmentofeverydaylife · 22/01/2019 00:10

Another hyper-aware of physical sensations here. WOuldn't know where to begin to list and describe them, but contrary to a previous poster I most certainly do not find it a blessing. It rules my life and I hate it. When I was younger I never had so much hypersensitivity physically, although I was emotionally pretty sensitive. And in fact I'm often hyperaware of negative and intrusive thoughts, as well as slight changes in my mood and feelings. I'm having to learn to live with it, but I would swap it for relative painlessness and blissful ignorance in a heartbeat (which of course I'd feel intensely lol). Have had many protracted episodes of feeling like my breathing is fucked too. My theory about it all - certainly at a physical level - is that since my teens I've had so many migraines, allegy attacks and viruses that my body is just on constant red alert. Been diagnosed with two types of migraines, persistent orafacial pain, fibromyalgia, IBS, costochondritis, chronic hyperventilation syndrome, you name it. Next month being seen by a rheumatologist again coz now got seemingly chronic pain in my hips and lower back. I'm a wreck lol.

Don't know what would help you OP other than as much rest & relaxation as poss on a daily basis, and genlte but regular exercise to try to shift and broaden the boundaries of your body-knowing a bit.
