As i do and i hate it.
makes me look so unprofessional and it embarrasses me so much i just wish the floor would swallow me up.
even my kids point it out in public just to humiliate me further.

i blush alot too it so fustrating i not know wat causes it xx

throckenholt · 30/06/2007 13:13

me too.

DUSTIN · 30/06/2007 13:15

Yep I blush at the slightest thing. I was hoping I would grow out of it. The more and try not to blush the more I do it. People at work take the mickey about it as well so that doesn't help.

allgonebellyup · 30/06/2007 13:37

dont know how to help it really

The more you worry about it, the worse it gets, especially if people point it out.
my face literally burns.

Sometimes breathing in through your nose and keeping your mouth shut helps, saw this on a programme for people with anxiety problems.

Me too. I even have times when I don't feel as though as I've blushed but some wise ass will pipe up oh look, you've gone all red. I hate it. Saw Prince Harry on tv last night, he's the same. Maybe its a sign of royal blood.

allgonebellyup · 30/06/2007 14:30

yes i noticed that about prince harry yesterday too..
makes you so self conscious.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 30/06/2007 14:38

i do. and sweat. and my eyes get teary.
i'm a prize, me!

dyingchildshair · 30/06/2007 14:39

yes all the time. and if people point it out it gets worse. i hate it.

doesnt help that i have rosy cheeks all the time, so am not always blushing but people point it out and it gets worse.

foxinsocks · 30/06/2007 14:46

I do sometimes. Not always though. Tends to be if I'm speaking in front of a group of people - with one or two, or a group of close friends I'm fine. With a dinner party say, if everyone suddenly shuts up as I'm talking, I do tend to go red!

But I also get outrageously ruddy cheeks when I drink wine. I can feel the hot flush coming up from my chest, through my neck and under my eyes - it's a very strange feeling!

kinki · 30/06/2007 14:54

I've never understood why it still happens when I'm in friendly and comfortable company iyswim. Maybe understandable when stressed or pressured but why do I blush in front of friends? I'm not lacking in confidence and I'm not shy yet it still happens. I've often wondered if it is something you can train yourself to control.

foxinsocks · 30/06/2007 15:00

I'm not particularly shy either. I think blushing that is a reaction to being shy can be managed by dealing with the shyness (counselling, whatever).

The other sort of blushing just appears to happen. I'm quite sensitive to extremes in temperature too. I've often wondered if they are all connected (get migraines too).

MrsWho · 30/06/2007 15:19

I do and i start to cry and also my ear goes bright red and it sticks out !

Highlander · 30/06/2007 16:46

I'm not at all shy but I go bright red when giving lectures or when I have to express my displeasure at something (like having a go at builders).

I'm heaps better now that I've had kids. Probably because my mind is elsewhere and I'm not so self-concious.

allgonebellyup · 05/07/2007 20:31

ooh mine is worse since kids, i was more confident before.
