I got through my teens and 20s with good skin now why the hell is this happening?! I wash my face every day with simple products. Once a week I do a Sudocrem face mask but this is just horrible. I drink lots of water. Any remedies?!

I’ve always had clear skin and then developed lots of chin spots that I’d never had before at 31. However, after about 6 weeks they completely disappeared and haven’t come back. How long have you had these for? X

Jaimx86 · 12/01/2019 08:06

Sorry about the ‘X’ Blush

I think you need to go to your GP. They will probably prescribe a course of antibiotics and a face cream. Don’t mess around with skincare stuff in Boots etc. You need medical treatment! Smile

I normally end up having a course of antibiotics every year when it starts to flare up. And I use a prescribed cream daily.

Polarbearflavour · 13/01/2019 10:28

Oh and ask your GP for blood tests to rule out PCOS etc.

DangerMouse17 · 13/01/2019 10:30

Have you tried changing your sheets more regularly? I change my pillowcase every 3 or 4 days now and that helped with mine as I tend to use products on my hair which was then transferring to skin.

everycloud30 · 13/01/2019 13:38

@Polarbearflavour can I ask what antibiotics and cream you were given?

BendydickCuminsnatch · 13/01/2019 13:40

Hmm i turn 30 this year and am spotty too, but always have been. Do you think it’s an actual problem other than just being unattractive? As in, should I go to the docs? (Had loads of normal blood tests lately).

User10fuckingmillion · 13/01/2019 13:46

Go to the gp. They’ll probably give you benzoyl peroxide type stuff, which is a bastard but does the job.

woopdewoop · 13/01/2019 13:48

Do you have them on other parts of your face? Also do you wear make up?
They don't look very inflamed I think a doctor would be reluctant to give you antibiotics for this.

everycloud30 · 13/01/2019 14:01

Foundation and concealed covers them reasonably well. I don't the GP will give me anything. He's of the "only if necessary" camp. I'm mid cycle now which is typical of a flare up as is around my period. I can't take the combined pill. The BP cream, can I buy it otc?

everycloud30 · 13/01/2019 14:01

@User10fuckingmillion why is BP a bastard?

Polarbearflavour · 13/01/2019 17:22

Lymecycline antibiotics and Skinoren cream (azelaic acid).

everycloud30 · 13/01/2019 18:39

I'm sudocrem facemasking at the mo. Lucky dh!

Do you drink a lot of milk? If so, try cutting out dairy for a week. If it helps then gradually start to reintroduce it to see if the spots come back. I had adult acne and this really helped me. I have since found that I can tolerate some milk and other dairy products, but I have less than I used to. Also for me, pure milk seems to be the trigger more than cheese, yoghurt etc.
Apparently, for some people, the natural hormones in milk can cause acne. Maybe a remedy that might be worth a try?

Definitely hormonal. Spots are back a month on. I just don't get why now they've started. I'm 31 soon and have previously avoided bad skin.

Mine went when I reduced the amount of sweet stuff (inc fruit) and increased 'good' fats such as almonds, oily fish and avocado.
