Need to wee ALL the time

Hi,
Not sure if anyone has been in a similar situation but wanted to ask as this is really bothering me. I had my 4yo son young and I needed to wee a bit more often as I expected. I had a major surgery in March and had to have a catheter in for 5 days and it's been worse since then but recently it's getting ridiculous. Tonight we've been watching a 20 minute episode of our favourite show in bed and I've needed a wee 7 times since it started. It hasn't even finished yet. This is every day, all the time, I must wake up countless times in the night to go to the toilet which means I am hardly sleeping. It doesnt hurt when I wee so I don't think it's a UTI. I've had a sexual health check recently and I'm clear. I'm overweight based on bmi but not obese and I've lost a few stone in the past year and am still losing weight, I've been eating a lot better and going to the gym recently so drinking more water but not 24/7, seems weird it would come from that.
Anyone got any ideas? I have a gp appointment on Tuesday :(

Have you checked your blood sugar?

MummytoCSJH · 05/01/2019 23:43

Just wanted to add that when I go to the toilet I do actually have a full wee so it's not just the feeling!

How much are you drinking, that you have a full wee every time you go so frequently?

Weenurse · 05/01/2019 23:53

You need a blood sugar check

EmmaGrundyForPM · 05/01/2019 23:54

I think you need to see a doctor.

A litre of water when I go to the gym in the evening, 1-2 cans of diet pop and maybe 2 cups of tea every day. I don't ever really drink alcohol unless it's a special occasion. This isn't every day though, if I don't go to the gym I might have one cup of water and the pop and the tea. Some days I hardly drink anything and it's the same! I'm not drinking anything after 8pm and I still wake up at least once an hour in the night.

Thank you that's why I've made an appointment, it's gone on for way too long now. I just wanted to ask on here first as out appointment slots are only 10 minutes and I don't want to go in there and get fobbed off :(

After a few more hours of research I've seen a few mentions of ovarian cysts, I've been told in the past I have some (but that they're not harmful?) and early last year I was in hospital due to pain which they said could be because one had popped (though the pain subsided and they just let me go without properly diagnosing it). I'm going to mention this to my GP and see if they think it could be to do with that if infection tests come back clear again.

When is your appointment OP?

As you don't want to be fobbed off it's best to go equipped with info for your doctor.
For a few days can you do a fluid volume chart? Basically you measure how much you drink through the day, and how much you wee each time (not in the same jug!)

Note down how much wee comes out each time and if it is clear or yellow in colour.

It will help the doctor to know if you are desperate when there is only a relatively small amount in your bladder, or if you're weeing good volumes each time.
I don't suppose you hover over the loo in your own home but do make sure you sit down and give it a moment when you've finished to be sure you are emptying your bladder properly.

Urinary problems are often described in terms of frequency, urgency, pain.
What happens if you don't get up and go for a wee? Is it painful, or would you leak.

Be honest with the doctor about your symptoms and how it's affecting your life, the example of the TV show is fine, also if you are avoiding social outings or journeys please tell them.
Good luck.
