My dentist has recommended that I try cerezen ear inserts to try and help my locked jaw and jaw pain. Has anyone ever tried these? As it seems that they have some negative reviews and before I fork out £500+ I was hoping to find out if it was worth it!

Sorry to hear Sharr24. Maybe call cerezen and ask for re-impression? Could size be slightly wrong? Just thinking out loud. I'm impressed that you have used for so long with not very good results.

I got my ear impressions a few days ago. Not painful but uncomfortable. They said I will receive it in 3-4 weeks. Will keep posting.

Thank you for your reply
Will have to find my provider lol
Had them done in a private dentist and was really excited,, but not really worked for me, my head and jaw have been heurendouse this week,,:(
I will take your advise and see if I can contact them,,,I can't afford private dentist but for Cerezen I took the plunge as cannot stand the feeling in the morning, the headaches and the pressure in my temples which seem to have all started up again,, makes you feel miserable and headaches all day

I hate to bring bad news but my dentist just told me Cerezen have gone out of business. Shame as they did help if you could afford it (I paid around £600 but I understand they put them up to £1000).

OMG! Thanks for sharing! As I explained before, I'm in the middle of the process of getting mine done. I already paid 50%. I've sent them an email to see if I would get mine delivered or not... Confused

allypally999 · 08/10/2019 13:48

Unfortunately from my experience I'm not surprised that they have gone out of business. They turned my mild symptoms into nightmare symptoms.

Sharr24 · 23/10/2019 16:17

Albvinkei
Sorry to here that
So disappointing when they cost so much, then make it worse
I was hoping they would stop my clenching,,,, So sick of waking up with a sore jaw,, and feeling crappy
Hopefully something will come on the market that actually does work

I’m in the same boat as Albvinkei. I got Cerezen originally to help with ear fullness and night time Bruxism. Now I have day time tightness, clenching and headaches I never had before. My clenching at night is worse and my ears are more full than ever. I stopped wearing them like three months ago and I’m still WAY worse than I was before I ever tried them. I wish I never gave them a shot as I’m miserable now. Does anyone think they can permanently retrain your jaw muscles in a negative way? I wore them for about three months and it seems I’ll never be the same. So upset about it.

Len1 · 06/01/2020 22:07

Yes, I bought them a couple of years ago. For Bruxism. (Teeth grinding) They do work to a degree, but they work themselves out of your ears and mine have been in a draw longer than in my ears. I paid £350 for mine at the time, I would say if you are going to give them a go, make sure you really keep your mouth as wide as you can while the moulds are being taken. It is important that they are made to fit the ear opening ( like when yawning) that way they fit better and do a better job. (Hope that makes sense) If you use ear buds/airpods you wont be able to do with these. Another downside as well as them sliding out. I think that wearing foam earplugs at night would give the same effect. I wouldn't buy them again.

My cousin is a dentist and has informed me that botox is now used to stop grinding. Mine is also so bad my head and teeth are so painful in the mornings. I might try the botox injections into jaw area. It only lasts for about 6 months. But worth it if it gives relief

Albvinkei · 07/01/2020 00:25

I have read that Botox injections into the jaw area have resulted in loss of bone density in some patients so that scares me. Len1, I was wondering if your cousin knows anything about that? It is the main reason why I declined Botox for this problem. If that information is not correct though I might consider it.

Hello, I had pretty bad experience with Cerezen. They Severely exacerbated my symptoms for several months, Which haven’t still completely returned to how they were before I used them. Do you think it’s possible they could have aggravated the joint or even damaged them? Sometimes I remember waking up in the night with them rotated upside down still inside my ear. Just concerned since I stopped using them maybe 7 months ago and the aggravated symptoms still persist. Apparently they went out of business and it’s impossible for me to get in touch with anyone from the headquarters in Ireland. Would appreciate anyone’s thoughts for insights. Thanks!

Albvinkei · 26/02/2020 10:01

My symptoms went from very mild before using Cerezen to being terrible whilst using Cerezen. I have not used the Cerezen now for seven months and my symptoms are worse than ever. I am convinced that Cerezen is the reason my symptoms have increased twentyfold. I was diagnosed with bruxism over twenty years ago but it is only since using Cerezen that it has really impacted on my life.

NoTeRindas87 · 27/02/2020 00:13

Sorry to hear that your exacerbated symptoms still persist like mine. I don’t these clenching attacks in the day as often, but I still grind harder than I ever did at night, even with my mouth guard. My joint in my ear is also more tender to the touch. I suspect since we are both heavy Bruxers that we kept grinding and biting down all the way at night even with the devices in causing the hinge of the TMJ joint to hit and get irritated by the hard Cerezen device over and over again instead of stopping the grinding. I’m going to get some imaging/xrays done to compare to previous ones I had done before I used the devices. Hopefully they didn’t cause any joint damage/osteoarthritis. But I’m still puzzled why the symptoms would be worse if we stopped using them 7/8 months ago? I wish there was someone from the company to answer our questions. Hope we both get better soon!
