Does anyone know what this is?

For a month, when I wake up my knuckles/fingers are REALLY stiff. When I open and close my hands the knuckles pop in and out of their sockets but no pain. It slightly eases as the day goes on. I also have achy thumb on and off throughout day. I've been to docs and she said she thinks I'm too young for arthritis an doesn't seem to know what it is. I'm 34. Anyone relate? Is it anything to worry about?

Could it be work related? is it repetitive strain injury? Did your GP take bloods?

You are not too young for rheumatoid arthritis.

It could be arthritis. Sounds very like friend whonwakes with hands in ‘claw’ which eases through morning. May be something completely different. I’d get some advice from your gp.

Go back to GP.
Ask for a referral to see someone who DOES know what it is.
You are never too young for arthritis.
Get help asap.

Yes, I’ve had this following having a baby. My thumb and index finger still ache at the knuckle. I haven’t been to gp but I assumed it was hormonal. If I use my thumb for pushing out tablets ie paracetamol, my knuckle joint then feels really tender. It’s bizarre. I’m 43. No history for me ir my family of arthritis.
Have you been doing something new recently, ie playing on a console, using the controller, or a new phone etc. That can sometimes cause minor rsi.
