Facial mole removal

Hi, sorry, this is superficial but I have a flesh coloured mole on my face which I want removed. It won't be allowed on the NHS as it's purely cosmetic, where do I start with finding a surgeon?

You can ask your GP if they can refer you to someone for private treatment.

I went to a private hospital for a discussion about removing a facial mole and they quoted about £800, I think.

My GP was able to refer me to another GP who could perform the procedure for £300.

Might be worth asking.

Did it scar, I have a huge mole on my face which grows white hairs asked the GP about it years ago and she said it would be at least an inch long scar

I have a barely noticeable scar. But my mole was raised rather than wide in circumference, so the wound wasn't very big.

Mine is about 4mm in diameter, between my eyes, so a scar would be probably just as unsightly.

I've recently been advised by the surgeon that removed a skin lesion on my arm that laser is the best treatment for facial moles as the cosmetic outcome is really good. He recommended someone in my area (a private clinic specialising in all sorts of Co metic procedures). It may be worth asking at your GP practice for a recommendation. It will be private as it's cosmetic so you don't necessarily need a referral just a contact.

Look up your nearest private hospital
look up the dermatology team
look for the surgeons who do NHS and private for at least one chain

contact them
stating from the outset that you are paying for yourself
and those who are willing to do the work for a sensible price will meet you

if you like them go with it
if they give you the creeps find another

I am trying to find someone to do the same. Over many years I have had these tiresome little flesh coloured "moles" removed by cyro, by burning, by scrapping. It used to be quite cheap and easy. For a while a beauty therapist did a session on as many as should could zap in half and hour for £100 which was brilliant, I have recently had a quote from a surgeon for £800, in a hospital, under local. It has become a money making exercise, it makes me mad. For something so simple, it should just be a quick zap for £50 and done.

I too have two moles on my face which I would like to have removed. I had one lasered in 2009. It is growing back but now flesh coloured. I have a smaller one to the side of it which is very raised. It's probably 3mm. I would like them both removed and am going to look into laser surgery but it's my 30th birthday in 4 months. Wondering whether to have this done before or after my birthday. I can't remember the healing process when I had laser before

I had one removed from between my eyes on the nhs.

It's scarred horribly at first but now you can't see anything and I feel so much better.
