*Pic included* sudden acne / rash on torso, spread to legs and neck

Yesterday I started itching and being uncomfortable and today I realised I've broken out in acne / rash all over my torso. Now I've realised it's also on my legs and neck?

Any ideas? I've a party to go to on the 29th and was hoping to wear slinky straps and a low cut top but feel like I'll be needing a roll neck and long sleeves!

Never seen anything like this on myself before. Rest of household is okay

Have u tried antihistamine?

AuditAngel · 27/12/2018 21:43

That doesn’t look like acne to me.

Perhaps an allergic reaction? Or something like rubella. Not chickenpox

TinselBee · 27/12/2018 21:58

I've taken Piriton at 4pm and nothings gone down, just spread further.

Scabies?

bakingdemon · 27/12/2018 22:00

I had something like this and it was an allergic reaction - got some antihistamines and it went within hours

VeniVidiViciTwice · 27/12/2018 22:14

I have had similar - started as a small itchy patch on my stomach. antihistamines, super strong oral steroids and now steroid cream. I am now just mottled and not quite as itchy four weeks later and after numerous doctors apps, smothering myself in the steroid cream and dermacool, if not cleared by after new year then the doc is referring me to the hospital for a biopsy. Hope you find out what is causing or quicker than I have.

MrsEricBana · 27/12/2018 22:20

Yes not acne. Allergy or virus I would think. Dh had v similar and was shellfish allergy which I believe can start a day or so after you eat the thing. Give your timings did you have any shellfish on Christmas day?

MrsEricBana · 27/12/2018 22:20

Given

I get something similar when I go low carb, toxins seem to get released from the body. Have you changed your diet recently?

TinselBee · 28/12/2018 06:52

Thanks all.

Diet has changed as it's Xmas. Usually I'm pretty healthy but past 3 days I've been drinking and on the junk food.

Maybe I'll pop to pharmacy to see what they say?

Some of them look like blisters? Is that correct? Difficult to tell. I thought possibly chicken pox or shingles

Grannyannex · 28/12/2018 06:55

If so ask the gp for meds to shorten the episode

Grannyannex · 28/12/2018 06:58

The itchiness is typically CP/shingles. When you say uncomfortable, is it like a tender radiating discomfort from the spots.

TinselBee · 28/12/2018 07:47

I really don't think it looks or sounds like shingles, my mum had it last year and doesn't seem like what she had.

Shingles is typically one sided and follows the path of a nerve. It doesn't look like cp either. It looks more like a reaction to something topical. Maybe showel gel or washing powder/ fabric softener.

TinselBee · 28/12/2018 08:01

Only new thing I've used is my DS' Child Farm's body wash and shampoo. Forgot to grab my Sanex from the shower. But thought it wouldn't be that as it's made for sensitive skin?

Pharmacist said it's an allergy reaction this afternoon. But just realised my son is now covered in this rash too and is very moany!?

cheesywotnots · 28/12/2018 18:06

Are you sure its not chicken pox?

TinselBee · 28/12/2018 18:10

Yeah, I don't think it can be chicken pox. It doesn't look like chicken pox to me
