Does anyone know how much it would cost for a full body MRI scan?

Saw this in a magazine but cant remember how much it was, does anyone know and has anyone had it done?

My parents certainly thought it was worth it for them - it showed up problems for them and they have both received treatment since

exactly, I went to a talk yesterday about ovarian cancer and thought, why isnt everyone offered screening, its so crap.
How much did your parents pay? and would they recommend that company?
I am with BUPA but know I am not covered for routine tests, will see how much they charge too.

Not sure what they paid but I think they got a bit of a discount for both having scans at the same time
Seemed happy with the company

It was a bit tricky sorting out the treatment afterwards as the GP wasn't happy that they had had screening

Why - if you are worried about ovarian ca you can have an USS for less than £100 total neurotic waste of time for a whole body MRI...puleeeeeease!

The Time article very clearly comes down against such screening, as do most of the screening authorities in this country. I think these companies are ripping off unsuspecting consumers. As Muir Gray says in the article, all screening does harm. You just have to weigh up the risks and benefits. And I don't see that equation working for most people.

Whole body MRI is most likely to come up with an intracranial aneurysm - 2% prevalence, which of course means that most never rupture. Treatment is dangerous and in the vast majority of cases unnecessary.

A few years ago an ex's Dad had a scan here after what was dx'd as a Stroke in USA (they were on holiday) the scan showed it to be a Brain Tumour and did buy him some extra time.

They raved about the efficieny of the unit.

thanks peachy i still havent decided whether I will do it, since i started my nurse training I have become a paranoid freak so just thought this might be an option
