Toddler Walked in human poo

Right this is proper grimy but I went to collect a parcel from the post office and went up a little ramp to get in the door. I didn’t notice until I was nearly over it but my buggy went over a bag for life full of what sounded like a couple of glass bottle but because it made a noise my 2 1/2 year ds walked on it to make the same noise the buggy did (like in the blink of an eye). That’s when I realised the wheel of the buggy was covered in poo (which must have been in or under the bag. When I looked at the bottom of my toddlers shoe he had poo and toilet paper on them (which I’m no animal expert but I don’t know any animals that clean themselves with tp). All I had on me were baby wipes (so no anti bac) so I cleaned him and the buggy up as best I could. I then walked a slightly long way home so I could walk through the grass in the park to get as much off before we got home. The thing is he started moaning so I gave him a sausage roll I had in the bag.

So my real question is (and I know this sounds ott but there were alcohol bottles in the bag and who poos outside a post office so god knows what the person who left that there has) but should I be worried he might catch something, especially cos I have him a sausage roll so he was eating?

I’m kicking myself that I should have taken him to a pharmacist earlier but am thinking of taking him tomorrow. Like all poo is gross but I wouldn’t take him to seek medical health if he walked in dog poo I’d have just cleaned him up and disinfected everything and got on with it but is human poo more dangerous?

Thanks

I think I'd be more worried if it had been dog poo tbh. As long as you bath him, wash his clothes and clean his shoes and your buggy you should be fine
It is gross tho - calls for wine and chocolate (for you not DS)

@dobbylovessocks you don’t think cos I gave him a sausage roll but at that point hadn’t anti baced anything (although scrubbed us with baby wipes)

I was working on the assumption that a human bite is more likely to get infected than an animal bite and that was playing on my mind (but obviously crossed that info over to poo rather that bites!) but you don’t think it’s as bad? Xxx

I don't know. If you are concerned then speak to a pharmacist or ring 111. If you scrubbed him with wipes and he was visibly clean then I'd not be panicking. But that's me. Did he touch the poo or just walk in it?

KittensAndChristmasCake · 22/12/2018 20:52

I doubt any of the poo got onto your hands and even more unlikely then onto his hands and into his mouth. I wouldn't give it a second though tbh

I'm not really sure what the pharmacist could do, to be honest. If he shows any signs of being unwell then obviously get him checked out. Dog poo is more dangerous than human, I think.

Thanks everyone you’ve actually really calmed me down. He didn’t actually touch it as once I realised I went a bit militant and was like don’t move. I think I spiralled a bit cos I was so grossed out!
