Unexplained weight loss?

Please don’t take this as me complaining about losing weight as I know people really struggle to!
Before I had DS in jan 2017 I was around 11-11.7st (I’m 5’6) after giving birth I was 12st 9 for a long time until the end of last year and I suddenly went back down to around 11st.
I had a bereavement in March and I didn’t eat much for a couple of months, taking me to around 9st7 ish and my hair actually started to come out quite a lot.
I’ve been eating normally for a long time now, I eat quite a lot and have chocolate etc most nights but I’m just not getting above 10st 2. I went to the doctor as I’ve been getting pain in my shoulder and she asked if I’ve had any unexplained weight loss.
I’m worrying myself that’s it’s something like cancer now causing it. Has anyone else lost weight after having kids without trying? I didn’t breastfeed but my DS is now a very active 2 year old.

Maybe you've reset your body.

My mother had moderate unexplained weight loss over a few months. She fretted about cancer. She promptly dropped dead of completely unrelated heart attack. What a waste of her time to fret about the non-problem.

Which is my way of "don't try to fix it if it ain't broke."

Hi it's worth checking to see if you've got any thyroid issue going on as this can happen after children. Usually weight loss is over active but I must say I loose weight if underactive and I've met others who do too. Hair loss can happen with it but also a normal post pregnancy thing (usually stops by 6 month) or could be iron or vit d or b12 deficiency.

I'd go to Gp and ask for a few tests to rule things out before blaming it on the kids!

I'll add that active 2 year olds are the best form of weight loss though!
