fortunatley its under her chinn, rather than in front, iyswim. but still, its quite horrible, huge gapin hole with lots of blood coming out. the doctor wanted to glue it but they had run out of glue, so she used steristrips instead. praying she wont rip them off though.
i've heard that arnica helps healing. is it worth giving her some? if so, what sort of dosage please?
once the strips are off, she mentioned using vitamin e oil, but i cant see anyting on the boots website. anyone have any ideas please?
tia.

There was a study done a few years ago that proved arnica had no healing properties whatsoever, I read it with surprise as had been using it for many years before that (don't anymore of course, my GP used to laugh at me and my 'hippy ways' as he called it)!
We're using bio oil on my dd's knee as she tried to take her kneecap off 2 years ago and the scar is quite ugly but I can't say I've noticed much of a difference tbh.
Vitamin E I can vouch for as I've used it on old burn scars and it does definitely help to heal the skin.

well mozhe the healing power of positive thought is a wonderful thing (something people in the medical community would do well to remember)

Hmmm - positive thought, maybe for cancer type illnesses - I'm a real believer that my Mum kept going for so long because she believed she'd get better, died the day after they told her she couldn't be helped further, but really don't think it will help for a scarred chin!

I'm not sure if it is recommended for kids, but Contractubex is a very effective cream. It prevents formation of scar tissue and also significantly reduces the elevation & size of old scar tissue.

Re homeopathy in general - Anyone who has doubts about the uselessness of homeopathic stuff, take a look at BBC's documentary here.
