Anyone know of a miracle cure for this? Going round and round in circles with it and totally fed up now.

It's in my bum crack. I'm clean, I'm not overweight, I'm making a huge effort not to get too hot and sweaty etc.

I've used sudocrem, vaseline, metanium, lanacane, talc, moisturizer.

Had most success with vaseline but still not a total cure.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Have you been to the GP? Would suggest you try and get some anti fungal cream, topical steroid/antibiotic cream to help clear it. Sounds miserable, hope you get it sorted soon!

Funnyface1 · 27/11/2018 18:56

It's so hard to see a gp, you have to sit and wait. Even if you're there at 8 as they open you're usually waiting over an hour. I can't do it, I have the kids, school run...

Anyway I had a telephone appointment about 6 or 7 weeks ago and I was prescribed timodine. I guess I'll try that again until I can see a doctor in person.

I'm having the same problem at the minute! Keep getting fissures and now this is so sore between the crack. Gross! I am also healthy slim and active. Really should go to the doctors. It's one of those things you hope goes away on its own. I've been using all sorts and hope that I haven't thinned my skin using too much cortisone! Let me know how you get on 😭[

Another suggestion would to maybe see a nurse instead? They may be able to sort you quickly and still get you a prescription? If not, keep pushing to book a GP appointment or head to a walk in centre. Good luck.

I had something similar a few months ago and it was a bugger to get rid of. I suggest you persevere with the antifungal cream. Keep the area as clean and dry as you can. I dried with a hairdryer (yeah I know 😂) and then used the cream twice a day, went knickerless as much as poss (obviously not at work etc).

Some of these infections just take a while to go. Mine took a few weeks but did eventually bugger off. It's miserable though and so embarrassing. I never went to the gp either, nit getting my arse crack our for anybody 😂😂

Sudocreme - was like a miracle cure for me.
I got a bad patch of Intertrigo in skin folds.
I was a bit embarrassed as it is due to weight. I tried to keep it clean and dry but it just got worse.
One night I covered in well in sudocreme and added a layer of Caldesene powder over and it was 50% better the next day. I did the same again and honestly it was completely clear in about 4 days.

Funnyface1 · 27/11/2018 22:20

Thank you for the replies. I've been using sudocrem when it's been very sore and it really helps it feel better for a while but doesn't get rid of it completely.

I also go knickerless when I can as that helps too, but again, you can't do that all the time and I just don't think I've ever fully cleared it completely.

I've got the timodine on anyway. I didn't really persevere with it last time but I've done some reading and it sounds like good stuff so keeping my fingers crossed.

Only antifungal will work really. If cream doesn't do the trick you may need to ask for tablets instead

SealSong · 27/11/2018 22:30

Clotrimazole anti-fungal cream, can buy it at the chemist.
Use sudocrem after each shower to maintain once it has healed - that will stop it returning.

katiegd · 27/11/2018 22:34

Use something to relieve the irritation (sudocrem, topical steroid etc) and an antifungal cream. Keep applying anti-fungal cream for a week even once all the irritation has cleared up - this was what my GP said. I've had a recurring fungal skin infection on various parts of my body for months and it's only really clearing up since the GP gave me that advice!

zenasfuck · 27/11/2018 22:40

Clotrimazole or dakacort cream from chemist. Wash and dry thoroughly (use hairdryer) twice a day and apply cream after drying. These creams should clear it up In a few days

picklemepopcorn · 27/11/2018 22:41

Have you tried using a hairdryer to gently dry after a shower? You need to get the area dry, without irritating it.

Maybe use creams before bed, and stay dry in the morning?
