My 5 year old is due her flu vaccination tomorrow. She has a runny nose at the moment. Do you think it's ok to go ahead with it?

I was just going to ask the same question. My dd is getting her vaccine today but she is pretty sniffly with a bit of a cough today (although she hasn't complained at all).

What did you decide?

I would phone the surgery to ask. Some nurses will not give it if they are unwell

For future reference, I've had advice from the school that as long they don't have a temperature and their nose isn't running too much to prevent the spray taking hold then it'll be fine to have the spray.

How did the vaccine go? Any fever after the vaccine? DS will have his nasal vaccine this Monday for the first time. I just don't know what to expect.

I think it’s just if they have a temperature they shouldn’t have it as the vaccination can raise their temperature too. But check if you’re not sure

If they're filled with snot, you should postpone. The passage of the sniff simply doesn't work with high levels of snot.
