dd is 4.9
she has had constipation on and off for years, I have posted about it many times on here. Also she will not poo in the loo, never has, always puts a nappy on and withholds if I won't give her one or if one is not there.

She has been on movicol for over a year. Always withheld in the day, never more than one poo a day in the evening

I took her to a cranial osteopath last week. Several people had recommended this for constipation. I was slightly sceptical when I went as he didn't seem to do a lot but made another appt anyway for a couple of weeks time

so

the day afterwards she started pooing 2 or 3 times a day

Then yesterday.. omg... she pooed in the loo for the first time ever, of her own volition, and calmly announced that that was that and she didn't want to poo in nappies any more!

It may be a coincidence, but a weeeeird one if it is

Fabbo! Another movicol mum here..we've about got it cracked after 2yrs of the stuff. Its great when they can be'normal' and relaxed about pooing isn't it?

CountessDracula · 21/06/2007 14:59

on another note, cranial osteopathy can work wonders if it is done right. As your posting shows!

That's great news, Drac.

What a relief it must be for you.

Aitch · 21/06/2007 15:05

oh that is Great, cd. how fabulous. clever girl.

CountessDracula · 21/06/2007 15:06

oh yes it is!

I had visions of her being in nappies when going to university

I just thought I should let others know as I know there are lots of people in a similar situation

Well, I may need that advice yet!

Mine's only 2.7 but resolutely refuses to poo in his potty/toilet trainer. I have to put a nappy on before he can go.

Still, as you say .. can't see it being a problem when he's a grown man!
