My best friend is seeing a specialist at 1.30pm today after having a mole removed and being told it was malignant.

She's so scared

She has had a truly awful time, her DH was killed in a car crash a few years ago aged 47 leaving her with 5 DC's and she has struggled on alone since then.

This is an awful time for her so fingers and toes crossed please.

Any news Flower?

Poor lass. Some folks lives don't seem to run so easy, do they?

Quick update:

My friend has just rang, she has to go into hospital on Monday for a general anaesthetic. She says they will have a dig about and remove any more cells they find. They also want to check her groin as the cancer can spread there. If all is satisfactory she will need a check-up every 3 months for next 5 years.

I know she won't know the extent until Monday but I'm so bloody relieved, I had myself convinced she was going to say there was nothing they could do for her.

Thanks ladies your vibes are much appreciated

That's good news, Flower. My sis had melanoma on her arm. She eventually had some glands removed but it's now been 16yrs and she's well.

Flower3554 · 20/06/2007 17:07

Thanks for that suedonim, she was convinced it was a death sentence so I will pass that on to her if I may.

She has just become a Grandma too and was getting herself into such a state thinking she wouldn't see the baby grow up.

Yes, do tell her, I hope it helps give her some peace of mind. Such a horrid disease.
