Losing balance

Hi, over the last couple of days I've been close to losing my balance (literally about to fall over) and feeling odd when I move my head. Sort of dizzy but more about balance really.

It first happened after going for a jog (first jog in a few months, but never happened previously) and lasted about an hour and a half, maybe longer. Now it's just happened again after coming into the house after being at work. I cycled back from the train station but its only about 10mins,and pretty flat.

Is this a sign of low blood pressure?
Or does anyone have any other ideas? I still feel off balance now just sitting in the lounge as my chest moves breathing in and out.

It could be. But it could be inner ear imbalance too.

See the GP. I wouldn’t cycle till its sorted imo.

Could be middle or inner ear like labrynthitis, BPPV etc. See your GP.

I have BPPV - Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. It started in a similar way. Feeling off balance one afternoon. It came out of nowhere. I thought it was weird but didn't worry as it seemed to go off. A couple of days later in happened again only this time I felt as if the ground moved away from me, once agon it went off. That night in bed I woke up feeling incredibly sick and dizzy a bit like being really drunk when the room spins. It was awful. I was sick too. Saw the GP and she diagnosed BPPV. Definitely get checked out op.

Oh, thanks everyone. Magissa do you still suffer from this, or was it a temporary thing?

I have bouts of it. The first one went on for several weeks. I adapted to it by not making sudden head movements. Then one day I realised I hadn't had turned over in bed and wasn't dizzy... It went as suddenly as it had started. Since then I have had several bouts but never as bad as the first one.

Yes can be either. Since it's happened after exercise it could be done to sudden drop of BP or heart rate. I get this quite a bit, stress and poor sleep makes it worse.

Was seen by an ENT who did diagnose an ear imbalance following a bout of labyrinthitis 8 years ago but I think this is mild and the cause is poor sleep.

Yep I get this too. Saw loads of doctors a couple of years ago and everything was ruled out. Even had an mri on my brain. Nothing! I do have very low BP and don't sleep that well so I think it's just that. If it's an isolated symptom I wouldn't worry about it too much.

All you need is a Doctor. Go for a checkup they can give you the exact result. Maintain a balanced diet by the way and involve yourself into exercise.
