A good baby massage movement for colic is to run your hand, gently (with oil!) clockwise around little one's tummy, starting with small circles aroung the belly button, and working outwards in ever increasing circles within the pelvic bones and lower ribs. Olive oil is quite good, as is grapeseed, HTH :).

Another position is 'sleeping tiger'. Put baby on your arm with belly against your arm- legs and arms sort of hanging down, head up by your arm pit- looks a bit like a sleeping tiger on a tree. If you can try rubbing baby's back- if you can't and you need both arms to hold on to baby then just rock your body a bit and that generally helps with wind etc- also a very comfy comforting position

Forgot to mention- as disgusting as this sounds they used ordinary cooking sunflower oil at our baby massage classes- less chance of allergies etc . Our classes were run by Sure Start and they didn't recommend doing the classes with babies over 6 months as they don't stay still long enough-seems to be the general consensus Spod
