Heart palpitations

Every night this once I've got settled and sat down ive around 9-9:30 I've started getting heart palpitations. Suddenly feels like my heart every minute or so is doing a few too many fast beats. Anyone know what this could be?

it could be you are having extra beats, only a doctor can diagnose this really, perhaps you could make an appointment, they may well do an ecg for you. if you feel unwell with it then you need to seek medical advice.

Just realised what a mess I made of that first post. Sorry. It's happened every night this week but only when I sit down late on in the evening. I feel fine other than that. I get up and go to bed and it's fine all day again?

How old are you if you don’t mind me asking? Just that I think it is one of the 3,897 peri menopause symptoms that I seem to be suffering...

32...

I have palpitations and ectopic beats, please make an appointment with your GP and ask for an ECG.

Mine also seem to occur in the evening, I think it’s because I’m relaxed and so become more aware of them. I did end up in hospital as a result of my ECG showing up some unexpected changes but all good now, I just have to be aware of any shortness of breath, chest pain etc.

I'm such a worry, do I need to panic all weekend until I can get to my gp

Have you been put on some new medication or the dose increased? I recently had palpitations when my blood pressure tablet was increased but the GP didn't really believe it was the cause when it was clearly stated under side effects. Like you it seemed to happen at night when relaxing so was probably more aware. But yes don't panic see the GP next week just to make sure.

I have them and mine are hormonal but you should see a GP. If you're otherwise we'll, wait until Monday to ring

I found this very reassuring. May help you work out what's triggering the palpitations.
If you're well otherwise could be caused by what/how you eat in the evening. Common to have palpitations after a big meal, also reflux, indigestion, caffeine and lots of other things can cause them.
