MMR vaccinations

Can anyone please give me advice on the MMR vaccinations... I am in 2 minds whether to let my baby have her vaccinations in a couple of weeks

I am hearing that there's research suggesting that it can lead to autism

I am basically wanting to hear people's opinions for and against it

I'm really unsure about the right thing to do

Thanks

witchy gonna need some peer reviewed sources for all that. Studies, evidence, you know... not some ‘mommy blogger’ that had a poorly kid and put it all down to vaccines.

Why would you rather listen to random people on the Internet than your GP? Do you genuinely think there is some international health conspiracy?

People who don't vaccinate have done hours and hours of research, well months in fact
They may well have done, but its meaningless if they dont understand the difference between good research and bad research and get their info from antivax sites.
the problem with the mmr isn't because of the link to autism it's because of its link to childhood allergies, childhood cancers, increased childhood hospital admissions, neurological disorders, type 1 diabetes.....

Links please

Make being vaccinated unless medical conditions says it cant be done a pre-requisite of child care or school.

Problem solved.

Do pictures drawn by children cause autism?

We all know the answer is incredibly likely to be no. We don't know that (I think) as I very much doubt we've ever studied if the two are linked

We have repeatedly studied the MMR however and never been able to find a link or reproduce the original research which made us decide it was necessary to study the MMR

We do know some things cause autism - rubella is able to cause autism, CMV is able to cause autism... there are probably many causes and many types

We have enough done by scientists to confidently say no the MMR doesn't make children suffer from autism. We've tried very hard.... we haven't been able to say it causes autism

We have been able to say in a small minority of cases that vaccines have damaged children. It is insignificant compared to how many lives and disability has been saved and disability prevented

Brazen Because antivaxxers run on belief and hysteria, and will latch onto and use correct scientific statements like yours as if it supports their position. It doesn't, and you know that, and I know that, but antivaxxers will use this stuff to groom other people into their cult.

@witchy89 The NHS bases its decisions on well informed scientific and academic research, not the bollocks spouted by people trying to sell snake oil. Science is science, we learn and move forward. If we had never learned to accept new ideas we would still be infatuated with Humourism and bloodletting!
