Sudden extreme fatique

I'm 28 years old and otherwise in general good health.

Over the last few weeks I have been experiencing extreme fatigue. It comes over me suddenly, usually in the afternoon. I feel absolutely exhausted, I cannot think straight and all I want to do is lie down. Even simple tasks such as having a shower completely exhaust me to the point of tears. During these times, which last between 30 minutes and a few hours, my heart races and I sometimes get headache.

I'm not sleeping well at night. I'm having vivid dreams and my mind is racing (but nothing of any note just stupid nonsensical stuff).

This weekend I felt like I was getting flu or a virus. Alternating from red hot to shivering, sore throat etc. But nothing really came of it.

Today I ate my tea (appetite is fine if not a little more than usual) and as i finished the fatigue hit me again. I could cry. My lower back is also hurting.

I'm 5 ft 2 and 150kg so not overweight.

Any ideas?

I'm sure you've thought of this but the first sign that I was pregnant was feeling 'fall asleep with your head on your dinner plate' exhausted, like I'd never felt before!

I was going to say pregnant too! I couldn’t believe how quickly the tiredness came on and how exhausted I was!

sittingonacornflake · 22/10/2018 20:25

Yep. Sounds like the first trimester to me!

See your GP, it could be so many different things, your GP should be able to look into it for you. I hope you feel much better soon.

Pregnancy hadn't really crossed my mind. And would be disastrous if it was to be honest. I had a period in August and a somewhat lighter than ususl one in September.

Have you been to your GP? It could be b12 deficiency? Even if you eat meat you still may not be absorbing it, I had this problem and had to have injections by my doctors.
You could have a problem with your Thyroid? Or if you've been bitten by a tick it could be Lyme?

LMW1990 · 22/10/2018 20:53

I confess I haven't been to my GP. I just assumed it would pass by the time I'd actually get an appointment but it seems to be getting more frequent. I'll make an app tomorrow
