Dizziness! Driving me mad-tips please

Have had recurrent bouts of dizziness now for around 6 years. No set pattern.
Have been to 3 GPs regards it, had an Epneys Manoeuvre done 3 years ago, which did nothing except make me violent sick.
Have tried ear drops, car sickness tablets, iron. You name it I've tried it.
I woke up this morning, went to check the time on my bedside table which is a tiny bit lower than the bed and felt like the floor was coming up to meet me.
I've had all manner of tests done bit they've found nothing. I dont feel unwell when it flares up either, no headache or tiredness or sickness unless I go dizzy! I cant lie on my left side now or turn my head too quickly.

Any ideas? Anyone else had this happen? GPs attitude was to tell me to try the Epney Manoeuvre again despite me telling her it was tried before. She even admitted my ears were clear.
I'm 36 and not overweight. I eat healthily, don't drink or smoke and get regular exercise.
Driving me crazy!

Have you tried Brandt-Daroff exercises? I found them helpful when I developed vertigo after a medical procedure. I don't know if they'd be of any use if the Epley manoeuvre didn't work.

It sounds really grim, I'm sorry Flowers

Yes tried those, just couldn't recall what they were called.
And thank you, it is a nuisance! Worst time for it to appear again with half term as well.
DP is off tomorrow so will try GP again, but am promised a day in bed so fingers crossed it calms down again.

My mum had this it was so bad she couldn't stand to get out of bed and would end up crawling to the loo to be sick. For years she had all sorts done regarding her ears. Someone suggested she see a osteopath, after a few weeks and some exercises she could actually turn her head with out the dizzyness.
She later found out it was her neck.

I have similar although in my case its more light-headedness than dizziness although this comes too at its worse. Had every tests possible, saw ENT, cardiologist and what I've finally realised after 2 years is that it's caused by a lack of deep sleep.

I do manage about 7 hours of sleep but most of it is light and I get little benefit from it. There isn't a doubt that I feel much worse on days after I've accumulated bad nights. Its always worse first thing in the morning and gets a bit better by the afternoon.

I do also suffer from low heart rate and blood pressure, all normal heart wise but I think it contributes to how I feel.

Thank you both, I have had issues with my neck as I had an accident a few years back. I think if I can see the GP who I prefer I will ask to go back to physio and see if that makes a difference.
I've been asked about tiredness, but as my DP says, he could let off a klaxon and I wouldn't be disturbed!

Dizziness should always be investigated. Have you had any other symptoms OP? See your GP for referral.

I have had bouts of dizziness over the years. Saw ENT, of course by the time the appt came through it had disappeared, a few years later I suffered further symptoms and was referred to a Neurologist who gave me the correct diagnosis.

I used to have headaches for many years - diagnosed as possibly stress related. My dentist, after doing x rays once, asked if I realised I had blocked sinuses....ummmm no! I then had years of using nasal sprays - I only used them when bad - lawn mowing etc didn’t help. An MRI confirmed sinus problems but no further action was taken.

Then when going through a particularly stressful time it morphed into vertigo- getting out of bed and bouncing off the wall etc.

I don’t know if any of this helps OP, but for me it seemed to be sinus and stress related. I have learnt over the years to manage it.

Re the Epley Manoevre, it doesn’t feel good to have it done, but sometimes you have to persevere for it to help.

I have dizziness which manifests as disequilibrium - the sensation that your centre of gravity is off and you feel like you’re veering all over the place. Have had two bad attacks many years apart, plus some minor flare ups which abate in a few days. No diagnosis as all tests clear.

Has a referral to ent been suggested? They can do balance and vertigo tests to see if it’s an inner or middle ear problem (though the waiting list can be long).
