Hello.
I had an accident where I slipped on some tiled flooring in the rain and fell face first. I smashed two of my front teeth and bashed a fair few others. One (the tooth immediately to the left of my left front tooth) is incredibly painful and wobbly and was also chipped slightly. I went for an emergency appointment in the evening. They patched them up in the meantime (was a Friday night!). However, an x ray showed the wobbly and most painful tooth had a very bad horizontal fracture in the root and will need extracting. The same dentist booked me in for Monday morning for a non-emergency appointment.
I was told after thre extraction, it was likely I would be offered an immediate denture whilst it heals and a bridge/implant can be sorted. (It was an out of hours service and the dentist I saw didn’t usually work there).
I am very nervous of the dentist in general!
It all seems very quick to have a tooth out then replaced immediately. Does anybody have experience of this?
I am assuming my two front teeth will also be properly capped at the appointment. The one of the left is also still very painful.
I guess the main point is - is there a chance they’re going to take the tooth out and not put at least something in there immediatley?
If it was at the back I wouldn’t mind so much, but it’s a very prominent position and in my job I need to be in lots of client meetings etc and don’t want to be without a tooth!
This all happened in Italy too as I was on my way to the airport for a flight home. I had to drive the hire car (Italian drivers are bonkers!) through mountains, in huge pain and wait until i got home to get to the dentist. Was very painful :( Then BA lost my checked baggage....and now I can’t eat anything but soup because of the pain and unsecure tooth. All in all a great few days for me! Haha.
I may also need stitches in my chin but just want the teeth sorted first. I’ve just kept it covered for now.
Send hugs. And any tips to help with the pain and my nerves lol.
