Went to collect dd (3) from School today and they let a few children out early and there was one of dd classmates vomiting all over the playground outside 🤢😷 I know
It's quite easy for kids to pick up but is it likely my dd will get it? I chucked her uniform in the wash with anti bac cleanser init and been washing her hands all day! Can it normally happens 24 hours after contact? Xx I'm praying she doesn't get it

Is it a friend she would have been sat with or in close contact to all day?
It may not be a bug but I completely understand your concern.
All you can do is keep good hygiene and hope...Confused

The chances are pretty high but you're doing the right thing cleaning her clothes and hands after she's been near her. Keep her as hydrated as possible and feed foods that aren't too rich as this will lessen the time the big sticks around (if she gets it).

She slept through the night eating n drinking as normal. So I'm
Hoping she is going to be ok fingers crossed 🤞🏻 but I know it can take s few days too or should it normally come out within 24 hours after exposure ? Anxiety is through the roof 😩 thanks all xx

I have emetophobia so know exactly how you feel. I constantly clean toothbrushes, bedding, hands and toilets to make sure the chances of spreading anything are low.

ShellsBells76 · 19/10/2018 15:31

I also have Emetophobia so understand your fears. Incubation is usually 12-48 hours but some bugs can be more.
You've done everything you can to prevent it it's just a waiting game.
Was she standing right next to her when she was being sick?

Staceyjas · 19/10/2018 15:43

She wasn't standing next to her no, no where near as the child had come outside and was being sick in the playground on the way out
, I Collected my daughter from
Inside and walked around and away from the child. One of her other classmates hasn't been sick either as
I asked her mother and it's been over 32 hours now! So I'm
Keep on praying and cleaning and she's with her dad tomorrow! Xx

Fingers crossed then. It could've just been something she ate or something that was just her body. Puking isn't always contagious X.

ShellsBells76 · 19/10/2018 16:03

If she was no where near her then the chances are very slim, she would need to inhale particles so hopefully should be ok.

How is your dd op?!

pinkstripeycat · 20/10/2018 21:52

I’m freaking out just reading this. I’m so glad my 2x DS are older now and no one gets ill. I remember the days at primary school when I spent days worry about my 2DS after some other child had been ill. DS1 (12) has just been on school trip and was pleased he was able to sit front of coach and not worry about the possibility of anyone getting travel ill 1. As they are all older and 2. He’s coping with the worry better (I’ve passed my phobia to him).

Staceyjas · 21/10/2018 21:02

She didn't get it thank god ! Thanks for all comments I just pray she don't anytime soon I no u can't help these things ! Zx
