Frequent urination in women, cause for concern or to be expected after a certain age?

I've always been the one in the family who's always looking for the loo on a day out, but I've never needed to get up in the night until recently.

For the last few weeks, I'm going to the loo approx every hour at work and getting up 2-3 times during the night. This is unheard of for me.

Is it something to get checked out or just one of those things once you reach middle age?

If it's come out of the blue and you are not drinking anymore then yes I'd get it checked. You could have a UTI.

I suffer from UTI's occasionally and can't keep off the loo but in between an attack I very rarely get up in the night for the loo (sometimes if it's about 6.30 and I don't get up till 7.30 I might go). I average three times or so at work....pretty average I think.

UTIs are painful, ime, you would know if you had one.

Are you sure you're not drinking more fluid than before, OP?

I'm exactly the same Bestseller. I've been tested for diabetes, tested for UTI's, scanned to see if my bladder empties properly but it's thrown up nothing! And I've not even had children!

It also gets a lot worse round the time of my period.....I have no idea what this means!

It was one of my diabetes (t1) symptoms, so if you're also drinking a lot/ losing weight/ smelly breath get that checked....
