Episiotomy

Hiya!
I’m 10 days pp and I delivered my little girl by forceps with an episiotomy.
I came across that my wound was weeping last Friday and went to the GP and got a weeks worth of 2 different antibiotics, today they’re still weeping on day 4 of antibiotics. I’ve noticed some gaping and the midwife checked on Sunday and said that it will naturally heal...
I think it looks worse today and she’s due out again tomorrow. My question is has anyone has this before? I’ve read a few things and seen it’s quite common. And now with the antibiotics I’m now on tablets for thrush. I feel dirty knowing there infected and have started going for salt baths just enough to soak the area for 5 minuets.
Do you think the antibiotics will shift the infection by Friday? I’m really worried it doesn’t and I’m left with a horrible vagina

It will naturally heal. It will look and feel like it's gapping but the skin will heal in layers from the inside out, if that makes sense. The stitches will likely to be 1 continuous stitch which will also add to the gapping look.
Try to bath in lavender/tea tree oil and milk (just a capful to help spread the oil) twice a day.
Is the weeping defo infection? It'll weep with sirus fluid but that doesn't mean infection.

The doctor said it did look infected as it was weeping yellowish stuff they took a swab on Friday and the results are till not in but gave me antibiotics anyway. It almost feels like it’s opening more and more everyday. They midwife said on Sunday that it was healing but gaping 🤷🏼‍♀️ And to top it all off I had to get a tablet for thrush due to the antibiotics 😩 x

Poor you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cake Flowers

It sounds like it's healing. Get them to keep looking at it and making sure. It can be re-done but that would be via operating table, I know from experience. But if they're saying it's healing. Just keep getting them to check.
All the best x

Thank you for your comments! It’s actually healing very well and scarring over! I’m really pleased with it now!😁 still a bit tender now and again but very much getting there! X

Glad it's healing well. I was lucky to have my Sister as my own personal Midwife and she checked it regularly to make sure it was coming together and healing. Main thing is to keep checking or seeing someone if you feel it isn't right. Don't forget your pelvic floors!
