7months post csection...still tender

had second c section 7 months ago and my abdomen is still rather tender about an inch all around the scar. Its felt particulary sore for the last 10 days, more tender than usual, feels bruised. Is it likely that I've just strained the abdominal muscles? I have hurt my back so maybe I've put strain on abdominals?

I'm sure a lot of midwifes are great, in most probably are. But some of them, well, I used to dread certain ones coming on shift.

I had DS on the Wed evening...he cried constantly every night and I was b/feeding non stop. By the saturday night I was in bits and sooo sore so I rang the bell and asked for some formula...midwife marches in and starts giving me hell about the dangers of introducing artificial feeding so I said I know but I'm going through hell, I'm in pain, he's hungry, its only the once just to give me a bit of rest etc...she marches out and then marches back in with a leaflet about artifcial feeding

You need to read this before we give anything

I just blindly nod as I'm soooo tired at this point. She comes in with the formula and I'm looking forward to feeding him something and actually satisfying his hunger

Oh no, you can't feed him...it has to be from a cup...

Oh well let me do that then

NO! We can't teach you how to feed him from a cup or you may do that instead of breastfeeding

Cue me sobbing on the bed while a nurse cup feeds him!!

noseynora · 14/06/2007 22:58

Is that the reason?? Like you're going to feed from a cup for evermore just because they show you how to do it. How ridiculous. I too sobbed on the bed whilst watching the midwives feed DD.

thats awful, both of you... why are some midwives so awful?

Same here. Emergency c-section last November for good reason, op was wonderful experience. Recovery in hospital hideous! Some witches disguised as midwifes . Although there was one lovely one who seemed to sympathise and pointed out that after any other major op the paitent would not be expected to do anything, let alone care for a baby. Pity NHS doesn't have the funds to make the aftercare better.

Scar still numb in places, but thankfully no pain.

I had a cs in August and it was really quite painful last week (I'd been pretty busy and hefting ds around a lot), both inside and on the surface iyswim. Was thinking about going to the doctors but decided it probably just needed more time to heal - seems I'm not alone!
