Is there such a bloody thing.
Been using mitchum stick then Mitchum spray on top. It's barely working.
Nothing else even lasts an hour.
I think I have tried most things.
Any one extra sweaty, smelly and found a good product that actually works?
Thanks.

Perspirex. You apply it at night. It stings like hell but the results are worth it and you only need to use it 2-3 times per week.

crosser62 · 14/10/2018 17:18

Thanks, I've tried it and it doesn't work at all. Even daily applications doesn't do anything, I still sweat and wiff.
Think I am destined to be forever embarrassed and aware of my perspiration problem.

Mitchum roll on is the only Thing that works for me and Garnier spray to freshen up

Catonaroof · 14/10/2018 20:24

I use a lynx one in a white bottle. It doesn't smell "masculine."

To be honest though, it was switching from shower gel to proper soap (not Dove) that really made a difference!

dementedma · 14/10/2018 20:26

Mitchum. Been using it for over 40 years and it never lets me down. however, itf it doesn't work for you i dont know what to suggest

Smurfybubbles · 14/10/2018 20:38

Swap to a bar of soap for washing if you haven't already! We have a bar in the shower and it's made such a difference even during the summer heatwave, more traditional ones like coal tar soap are the best!

LizzieBennettDarcy · 14/10/2018 20:40

Sure Maximum protection. You put it on at night, and I pop another layer on in the morning. Works for me even when I was working in a very very overheated nursing home!

Mitchum has never ever worked on me. 10 minutes on and I'm already sweating through it.

Lucked · 14/10/2018 20:59

I use Mitchum too the stick not the cream.

I agree make sure you are using soap not shower gel (and not Dove) and wear natural fibres as much as possible.

Livedandlearned2 · 14/10/2018 21:02

Sure maximum protection here too. The mitchum one just isn't as good. Also soap mot shower gel.

I worked through the heatwave cleaning houses for hours and Sure was fab.

KeysHairbandNotepad · 14/10/2018 21:06

Mitchum stick. Brilliant stuff.

colditz · 14/10/2018 21:07

You need to make sure you are giving your armpits a good scrum with soap. Use a brush or some exfoliating gloves, lather up and properly rub at the skin under your arms.

Modern antiperspirants are actually very very good - almost too good, because they stick like glue to the skin under your arms and trap bacteria underneath that layer of antiperspirant. A gentle stroke with shower gel is not enough to remove the antiperspirant.

Shave under your arms after you have scrubbed with soap. Then, more gently, scrub again. Follow with some hand sanitising gel, allow to air dry, apply Right Guard 72hour Invisible - the MEN'S version. White bottle.

Repeat twice a day

If this is really severe, see your GP as there are treatment for very wet, sweaty armpits which involve zapping the pores.

Are you sure you smell, or is it just wetness? Most products will stop smell even if you end up with damp pits.

As PP said- wash morning and night with soap, wear natural fabrics, not polyester etc.

CantankerousCamel · 15/10/2018 19:44

Armpit hair

Sure Maximum protection every morning after a shower. I shower at night too, but dont put it on for bed.

My clothes still smell really fresh under the arms when I get home from.a physical job.

All the rest made me & my clothes smell very quickly.

crosser62 · 17/10/2018 09:48

Thanks everyone.
If I don't use the Mitchum stick AND deodorant spray on top then yes I sweat to wet clothing and I smell.
These are now beginning to not work.
Absolutely nothing else works, within the hour my armpits are wet and the smell is there.
I shave, I use soap not shower gel and I have tried the twice a week stuff for about a month. Ended up having to use it daily and I still was wet with sweat.
I'm also peri menopausal so this is now worse.
Clothing is ruined within a couple of months.
I work in an air conditioned environment too, this just makes my hands cold, I still am hot and sweat in the coolest place.
Recently I've changed my diet and that has helped hugely but dear Lord, why isn't there anything that does what is promised on the tin?

Driclor has always worked for me, it's the only thing that has

bigsighall · 17/10/2018 10:08

Driclor and then sanex 48 hour during the day (blue top all the others are rubbish)
Second pp about a good double scrub with soap too. Trust me, I’ve tried everything else mentioned and this is the only combo that has worked for me!

HoppingPavlova · 17/10/2018 10:13

I had a friend where nothing worked. They had Botox injections to control problematic sweat glands.

stellabird · 17/10/2018 10:37

See your doctor . It is possible to treat excessive sweating with surgery ( sympathectomy ) or injections of Botox.

Yonijust · 17/10/2018 21:40

Sure maximum will be a game changer.
