Violently sick and dizzy

Just out of interest really ( and to find out how long it might last) I've woken up this morning feeling intensely dizzy, the room is spinning and I'm throwing up. The weird thing is though, as long as I stay completely still I feel totally fine, no headache, sickness, ear ache etc. As soon as I move though I feel absolutely horrendous for about ten minutes then, if I stay still it settles down again. Anybody had this and can shed any light on it? Thanks!

It sounds like Labyrinthitis (sp?). It's to do with your ears, hence the dizziness and sickness when you move.

Lynne1Cat · 06/10/2018 08:56

It sounds like Labrynthitis. I had it a few weeks ago, and it went after a couple of days. Try to stay still, focus on something to look at in the distance, and REST. Drink lots so that you don't become dehydrated

Ok thank you! That's helpful.

Sounds like vertigo. I had it a few weeks ago. Went to the docs for anti sickness but had to Look on you tube for the method you need to use in order to move the crystals in your inner ear. It’s a sort of head exercise in order to shift them back to where they should be - sorry can’t remember the exact name of the method. Good luck

Labyrinthitis. I have it now. Its god awful. The sickness reminds me of morning sickness but not affected by eating.

Peaspleaselouise · 06/10/2018 18:56

My guess is labrynthitis too

Thank you everybody! It passed quite quickly which I'm guessing makes it more likely to be vertigo?? Crossing my fingers it was a one off but will be googling the manoeuvre, thank you.
