Hairloss hell

I am having massive problems with hairloss. I am a few months postpartum and have been told that I have a thyroid issue. My doctor has asked to monitor me for a few months before she decides whether to medicate for the thyroid issue because apparently it's quite common in women after pregnancy. Fair enough.

That's all well and good but I am losing that much hair that I won't have any left in a few months!

My question, to anyone that's been in this position before is, what can I be doing at home to slow down the loss. I have been looking it up online and there's so much out there but I don't know where to start. I can't start taking any vitamins until I've seen her again because they might change the results of the next lot of tests. That leaves me with options such as coconut oil, essential oils and using a wide tooth comb ...

Can anyone recommend anything that worked for them please???

Hiya

Sorry to hear about your hair loss issues.

I experienced hair loss after having my daughter but I didn't have a thyroid problem.

I found coconut oil and carrot oil helped me. Also I got one of them wooden hair brushes. They are suppose to help stimulate the hair follicles.

And just generally try be a little more gentle when brushing your hair. And avoid brushing when it's wet.

All the best x

And no straightening! X
