Constantly starving

Don’t know if I’ve just got myself in a bad habit of eating far too much, and not knowing what an empty stomach feels like (or a full one for that matter).
But anyway, I’m about a stone overweight and for the past few weeks I’ve been really hungry.
I’m starting slimming world next week as it’s all got out of control.
So I’m eating breakfast, then an hour later being starving, then lunch, then more food in the afternoon, then tea and then cereal before bed.
So today was 8.15am protein shake with banana and almond butter
9.15am cheese on toast
10am biscuit
11.30am small bowl of pesto pasta
12pm a coconut mini choc pot
3pm a mini soreen bar
4pm a slice of millionaires shortbread
5pm fish cake, mash, peas
5.30pm a few biscuits, couple of mini chocolates.
7pm a bowl of ice cream and I’m sat here at 7.30 with a rumbling tummy.
This is never right.

What can I do to stop being constantly hungry.
I’ve only done about 6000 steps today so haven’t burnt lots of calories by moving lots.
Maybe I’m eating the wrong things, but today’s calories must be exceeding 2500/3000 calories and I’m still hungry 😩

I’m going to look at some overnight oat recipes, as at least they can be done the night before.
I’m a bit carb phobic, but anything has got to be better than the utter crap I’m eating at the mo.
The protein is lean protein, so low sugar, bananas never overly ripe and almost butter 98% almonds and 2% venerable oil. So no added sugar.
It’s 289 calories in my fitness pal and an almost perfect 30% of protein, carbs and good fats!
Just weighed myself and I’ve gained 2lb in 3 weeks.
I’m 12 stone 4 and healthy BMI is 11.6 (I’m pretty tall) so 12lb to lose!

What is your water intake like? I always feel tired and hungry if I have a low water intake

uppitydoodah · 01/10/2018 20:50

@purplecorkheart I was JUST texting DH about this.
My liquid intake is shocking.
Today I’ve had one coffee, one tea and 2 cans of Coke Zero.
I keep getting banging headaches too.
I’m wondering if now the weather is getting colder I’m not as thirsty and I’m not drinking enough.
Must try harder re this.

Try replacing snacks with a glass of water herbal tea or bovril

I can eat any old shit, and not gain weight.
I am also hypothyroid. I am a medical nonsense.
I'm also over 40.
Perhaps it will change one day, and I will go back to my strenuous weight regime.
Still, I AM a medical nonsense, because my resting heart rate is 120.
I used to work hard at my body, until I got tired. Nothing changes much.
I don't eat crap all day though, but I eat whatever I want.
I know I'm lucky, other than the underlying heart rate strangeness. Apparently my heart is fine. Well, it probably isn't, but I like food, and love salads.

Why all the peculiar food I'm wondering. You are banging on about good fats which is pointless if you then eat chocolate and millionaire shortbread and biscuits.

Biscuits are absolutely the devil's food. There is no faster way to put on weight. A biscuit could be 90 calories depending on the type. A 'few biscuits' are equal to a whole extra meal per day if you eat 4 or 5 of them. Also, there is nothing that will make you want a biscuit more than having the first biscuit. One biscuit leads to another biscuit.

Why don't you have:
6am - Bowl of bran flakes. If it's too plain for you add a dessertspoon of muesli over the top.
10 am - 2 Rice cakes with a sliced banana divided between them.
12pm - Sandwich with 2 thin (not doorstep) slices of bread, scraping of mayonaise, salad and thin slice of meat or chicken.
3pm - Apple or a bunch of grapes
5/6pm - Dinner: small portion of carbs, portion of fish/chicken or meat, plenty of veg
7pm - Low fat yoghurt or small cereal bar as dessert (no ice cream during the week)
