Hair problem....Any hairdressers out there..?

Well, I have always had lovely hair..short or long its always looked lovely, in good condition and never given me any concern.

I had my 2nd dc around 4 months ago and the last 1/2 weeks have been bad hair days..

My hair is bob length and is coloured dark so you would think in good condition BUT its not. Its just gone quite dry and course and although I straighten it usually daily it still doesn't look sleek iykwim. The back esp when it tapers into my neck is very dry and almost wore like.

I wash my hair daily (as otherwise although it doesn't feel greasy it looks it iykwim) and shampoo and condition it. I used a schwartzkopf one and now just bought a charles worthington one...btw the schwartzkopf one I have used throughout pregnancy and beyond without any problems.

I am also loosing hair, when I wash my hair strands are in my hands and when drying it etc I notice strands coming out...I know this can be due to hormone change but should I be worried and what can I do..?

Even when I am washing my hair it never seems to be smooth and clean, it feels more thick, notty and corse..HELP...!!!!!!!!!!

TIA X

right hairdresser here

its normal your hair will go back to normal hair loss wise

also you may have product buildup so id rinse your haia wuth a cheap lemon shampoo it removes everything at least three times

i would recomennd a leave in conditioner you only put it on mid length to ends as well as a serum

also arre u using heat protection

shhhh · 12/06/2007 14:38

thanks booby...well I have never used a heat/stying protector as usually I find them sticky and don't tend to keep my hair natural iykwim BUT I have just bought a charles worthington on and tbh after 1 use im not keen..Like I said, quite sticky etc.

I thought a build up of products as it does feel that way but once my hair is washed and dried I don't add much..maybe a tiny bit of serum to my parting area to tame but thats all..I never really needed much.
So unless the build up is shampoo etc...

Is any leave in conditioner good..? May have alook at a tigi one online now as not sure when I am off to the shops next..
Can I use washing up liquid as the "cheap lemon shampoo"..?

I think this is normal about 4 months after giving birth. I'm sure your hair will be restored to its former glory within a few months!

a few months... Its driving me mad....!

Sorry but my hair has only just got back to anywhere near it's former glory and DS is 2.5. Half of it fell out and then the re-growth made my head look like beaver coat, thick underneath but wispy bits.

god the things us women go through for babies...
Would cutting it help..? I know its bob style now but thought if I went for it a little shorter iykwim.
