Naratriptan: long term effects

Is anyone aware of “new research into long term use”? I cannot find anything obvious about new research in Google, although am not a medical professional.

My gp is giving this as the reason for cutting my prescription by more than half. Is it wrong to suspect cost-cutting? These have worked so well for me.

Bathsheba there's nothing on pubmed. I suspect there is a cost implication but it is also contraindicated in people with uncontrolled hypertension.

My GP and neurologist wanted to halve my sumatriptan too and I was very concerned. The neurologist prescribed amytriptalin but it made me feel like I was living under the ocean!

I went back to the GP about 6 months ago now and she suggested 400mg of B2 (riboflavin) per day. It has changed my life. I take Sumatriptan about once a week now and have boxes and boxes left over. I used to rely heavily on it and suffered daily.

I am not sure if this will help you but it would be nice if it did.

Nakedscientist, sorry for the long delay in replying, but thank you so much for doing so - I’ll look into Riboflavin. Happy to try anything, migraines are extremely tiresome…
