Upcoming GP appointment for painful armpits/numbness/advice please

I visited my GP a couple of weeks back due to reoccuring tenderness in my armpits but on the day when examining me I had no pain response so she said to come back in a few weeks if still suffering. Im a new patient at the surgery due to just moving to the area so they don't know me and I left feeling like a nuisance. I did mention I also had tenderness in one breast but she didn't seem interested, although I have been checking regularly for lumps.

Im still suffering with the same issues and have in the last week also been getting numbness/mild pins and needles in my right foot and left hand, as well as twitching under my left eye when I'm stressed/tired and pains in my legs. I'm about a stone and a half overweight, mid 30's and a smoker, with a parent who died of a heart attack in their mid 50's. I'm concerned I may have problems with my circulation at the least (am also constantly cold), but what should I expect if I book another appointment and will it be taken seriously?

(I should add I fully appreciate I need to help myself first and foremost so diet, exercise and stopping smoking will all be figuring in my immediate future)

Could you be stressed from the move?

Sounds like me a few years ago. I got regular shooting/stabbing pains in my armpits and bad pins & needles in arms and hands, and lots of other nerve symptoms. Ended up with full brain & spine MRI for suspected MS, but nothing found. Was treated with Pregabalin for nerve pain and eventually symptoms subsided. Treated as a functional nerve syndrome. I still get odd random symptoms but knowing there is no physical abnormaility helps me to cope.

Hope you get some answers soon.

Thanks so much for replying. The move hasn't been causing me any stress, in fact my stress levels (apart from the health anxiety!) are far lower than they have been in the past. How long did you suffer with those symptoms fpr if you don't mind me asking? Did your GP take it seriously from the first visit?

I had the symptoms for quite a while, and they were painful (burning skin sensations) and yes I was taken seriously from the start thankfully.
Took about a year on meds though to feel safe to come off them, but knowing it was a “software rather hardware” malfunctioning helped.

I have my appointment tomorrow afternoon. I'm still suffering from the same pains in the armpits, the eye twitch hasn't reoccured thankfully and the pins and needles have been a lot less frequent but now my sinuses seem to be playing up and my neck is really uncomfortable. Glad your meds worked out - I know exactly what you mean by software/hardware failure - I hope mine is the former too.
