Anyone had peroneal Tendonitis?

I think I have this. Have had a bad ankle and calf since July. Worse after exercise and I’m very active down the gym. Haven’t really been resting it, well I stopped combat classes and stopped body attack and am only running once a week along with spinning, aqua aerobics and body pump classes. So sort of resting it.

Went to see a physio a few weeks ago who hasn’t diagnosed me with this.....wasn’t really sure what the problem was. Said it could be a ligament issue could be cartilage damage from falling down the stairs a few years ago and has given me exercises to do, lots of calf raises, one leg raises, etc....trying to build calf muscle strength up.

Went to a legs, bums and tums class today which I haven’t been to before.....thought it sounded gentle. Lots of sprint runs, star jumps, etc and the pain is awful. Really bad behind the knobbly bit on outside of ankle and up and down in a line there. Google said it could be peronal Tendonitis and the symptoms fit. I do also get pain across the top of my foot though?

Google reckons lots of eversion stretches so am focusing on those now and have decided am going to cut the gym out totally apart from spinning and aqua for two weeks and see how it goes.

Just wondering if anyone had this how long did it take to recover?

Am back with the physio next week so will ask then if he thinks this could be the cause. It’s just like a dull ache all the time, pain after exercise, haven’t been able to walk down the stairs properly for two months as I can’t flex my ankle enough....have to come down sideways.
