Trapped/pinched nerve how long will this agony go on for?

I have had a trapped/pinched nerve in my neck for one week now, causing pain in my shoulder/arm OMG I have never felt pain like this, burning/crushing/throbbing pain.

I'm on a cocktail of drugs - naproxen/amitryptyline/diazepam/codeine and it's just about bearable in the day but at night time even on the codeine I am waking up in tears with it. It's got no better and I'm getting seriously scared as I've just started a new job so no sick pay and still in probation, the timing couldn't be worse.

Has anyone had this and can give me a light at the end of the tunnel. was allowed to 'work from home' last week which was very generous of my new boss but I know I can't expect this to continue so will have to drag myself in next week and suffer.

Please please somebody help me from giving in to despair, feels like the pain is never ending and trying to cope with all this plus a brand new job is very hard.

I'm finding it comes and goes. Managed to get through work yesterday but woke up in absolute agony this morning. currently writhing in pain cannot get out of bed.

Not sure how honest to be with work, cannot afford to go off sick or get the sack.

How are you feeling now? I’ve had this since about 10th September and it isn’t much better. Went for an X-ray today so waiting to see if that shows anything.

I have been doing some excersises from a physiotherapist for the last two weeks & they have been helping - could be worth a try. I got the physo through work and it has all been over the phone, could be worth checking to see if your place has something like that.
