Swollen lymph nodes & raised ESR?

This may be a little confusing, so bare with me!

I’ve had swollen lymph nodes in my neck now since my birthday in May. I’ve also had a lot of problems with my legs and pain and different things so my GP ordered a load of blood tests, predominately looking for autoimmune diseases such as lupus etc. So far, I’ve got the ESR one back which has been said is 24 - apparently, according to the reference ranges it says it should be below 12. My white blood cell count has come back raised at 17, and so has my lymphocytes at 5 point something.

I wondered if it could have anything to do with my lymph nodes more than the pain and weaknesses in my legs? I’ve also lost over a stone and a half in the last month, plus a few other symptoms.

I’m so confused because my GP never seems to tell me what the results could mean. He never says “well it could indicate this” or “it means we have to look more into X Y Z”... Im fed up of never having answers!

Any advice/experiences of anyone that has maybe had raises in ESR or swollen lymph nodes would be greatly appreciated!

I’m nit a doctor or nurse but know-Raised ESR is an indicator of inflammation in the body which can be caused by an infection or arthritis. Is the pain in your joints?
Hope you get some answers & a diagnosis. X

Beach11 thankyou for answering!
Doctors are doing my head in at the minute ha, so it’s better to hear from people who have personal knowledge! Mainly my joints, yeah. I have a lot of pain in my left hip, left elbow and my hands. I get a muscle cramping a lot in my left hip and left thigh so I don’t know if that’s related either!

Thank you. I hope so too... The bodily pains have been going on 6 years now and I’m only 24! The sooner the diagnosis now the better! X
