Hair loss since stopping breastfeeding over 4months ago?!?

Please help

I breastfed for 23 months. Since I stopped over 4 months ago my hair has been falling out a lot. I have a significantly less thicker ponytail

Bought some hair vitamins over a month ago and also using a serum that is supposed to help.

Do you think it's worth going to my GP?

Thank you

I experienced hair loss after I stopped breast feeding. It was coming out in clumps. I think feeding delays the post pregnancy hair loss until much later. If you are at all worried about it a quick visit to the gp should put your mind at ease.

I had this and think it is fairly normal after pregnancy and feeding....it's a lot of hard work and the body takes a while to recover

My hair loss started also four months after finished with bf. But later found out that I had under active thyroid too. I did have blood test before but forgot to call for results. My hair was fantastic during pregnancy and bf. after it returned to the normal :(

As I understand it, it's because you don't lose hair in the usual way during pregnancy, so lots of women lose a lot of hair after giving birth. If you breastfeed then it delays the loss. I lost loads after stopping feeding with all 3 of mine so i'd say it's normal. Get checked out if you're worried though.

I had this too, I think it took about 18 months for my hairline to get back to normal

I was thinking it's normal too, it's just that I was hoping it would stop falling by now. Another 4 months and I would have no hair left!
