11 mo virtually dry in the morning

DS has an ear and throat infection. we started AB's last night. he is on calpol and nurofen too.

he is off his food and only ate breakfast yesterday. still drinking a fair amount of formula. however this morning when he woke up his nappy was virtually dry.

should i worry?

i don't think he is dehydrated.

He does not have dark yellow or strong-smelling urine

He isn't sleeping at all let alone excessively

He is drooling so his mouth is not dry

He is still producing tears when crying

His fontanelle is not sunken

His skin is not loose or dry

He has produced a wet nappy in 12 hours but it is excessively dry

I was told to pinch the end of his finger and if the colour came back he wasn't dehydrated and it did.

So could there be another reason for his overly dry nappy apart from dehydration?

ab's can cause diahorrhea (sp?) and it is even mroe improtnat to keep fluids going in. Can you try some clear fluids in addition to formula and offer sloppy foods , high moisture content fruit and veg , yoghurt etc

thats the problem he won't eat anything. we usually do BLW but in order to try and get something into him i offered yoghurt and weetabix this morning - both refused.

would the anti-b's cause diarrohoea (sp?) even though he's only had 1 spoonful so far.

Could do especialy on an empty-ish tummy. Live yoghurt has probiotics which can help combat it.

any ideas about the wee thing? do you think it could be a urine infection? i have been worrying about blockages and all sorts.

More likely to be he has just less fluid intake.

he's having loads of milk though cos he must be starving not eating. that's what i don't get about it.
