Headaches longstanding suffers

I've suffered terrible headaches since dd2 was born 4.5 years ago.

After her birth and for the first year I got aura migraines - petrifying.

Since then I've had debilitating headaches which last a few weeks/months and then I'll remove a trigger, be headache free for several months, I'll change something else and have another clear few months but now don't know what else:

I've removed hormonal contraception, alcohol and caffeine completely (inc decaf).

Definite link with my cycle but when having a spell they're month long.

I've seen doctors btw including neurologist and pain management. But because when I've worked out a trigger I get relief for a vaguely long period of time I want to avoid heavy duty drugs.

Anything else people can recommend?

I get these.

I try to avoid drugs too.
Hot water helps, I drink it like you would tea and vapour rub on my temples, forehead and nose/sinuses.

When it gets bad for me, I find sugar helps. Like a bag of fruit pastilles just really sweet.

Hope you find a way

Thanks. What vapour rub do you use? I try 4head but they can be awfully painful at times and that does nothing!

I don't find forehead works at all.

I use Vicks or supermarket own brand.
I'm using one from a pound shop currently!
As long as it works (it does), I don't care!

Did you have an epidural? Headaches can be a side effect of epidurals although rare to last this long

Peter no I had a spinal. As per my op I can get months of being headache free then they come back

I took control of my chronic headaches by using curable. I still get them occasionally but no where near as bad.

Teeth problems? Visit your dentist to see if you are grinding teeth in your sleep?

Thanks. Today is typical: dull aching squeezing headache from neck, forehead and into temples. Quite intense at times. Nurofen didn't touch it so haven't taken anything else and just trying to cope with it.

My headache "bible" book I bought states not to take painkillers if they don't help so 🤷🏻‍♀️. Doesn't help I've got my period and feel crap as it is.
