IBS what made you seek help?

I suffer from IBS and usually have been able to manage it by cutting out raw milk and wheat. I have other tricker but they are the 2 worst. However lately I have struggled hugely with pains and I realised recently that I do not remember what it is like to have a normal bowel movement I only have loose ones. this combined with pains has made me consider if it is time to seek medical help..

I will add I have over the years talked to gp aboit this but never actively had an app about it as I was managing. I know I am not gluten intolerant as was tested 4 years ago.

what made others go?

When you say you've never had an appointment about it, do you mean you have never officially been diagnosed with IBS? IBS is a diagnosis of exclusion so you should have had various tests to rule out other conditions.

Either way, your symptoms have worsened so I think you should definitely book an appointment.

I hope that your symptoms improve soon Flowers

No I have never had an official diagnosis Just had conversations with my GPs over the years and they have accepted it as IBS.

Did you have a biopsy test for celiac disease? That is the only reliable test as the blood test often comes back with false negatives. It's also possible to be sensitive to gluten without being a full blown celiac. Have you tried cutting out gluten to see if it helps at all?

No it was a blood test I had 4 years ago. When I cut out gluten I still get some symptoms but it eases. However I find when I reintroduce oat rye etc I never get worse. Just once wheat is back in play that I get worse. However I think I actually need to make a proper appointment from what is coming back here.

I would like to feel a bit more normal I guess.

It's definitely worth getting it checked out :) I hope that you get some answers soon, and an improvement in your symptoms.
