Should I really see a GP about my nose?

Hello,

Sorry if my thread will sound silly, but I have a problem with my nose. I broke it years ago and ever since it has been causing me pain on and off (like someone was pushing my face in my skull, with headaches as well).

In the last year I have been struggling to breath from one side and headaches and bone pain has increased. My DH thinks I should let the GP know and ask what could be done about it. I'm worried I'd be wasting their time.

Anyone had some similar experiences?

You should definitely see a GP with these symptoms!

Thanks, I thought they might think I'm just being exaggerated, but it's getting really annoying. I tried to avoid it for years as have always feared they might suggest having the septum straightened

My brother had the same. He had a deviated septum.
It may not be the case for you. But better to check it out.

You have a health problem. It's literally your Gps job to deal with it. Go.

@Helpmeyouyetti did he have it fixed?

Mine is deviated as I had x-ray when I was at uni (around 8 yaars after I broke it).

After years of putting it off He finally did it. But unfortunately wasn’t very successful for him.
Again. This may not be the case for you.

Yes you should see your Gp. I had a similar history, from an injury years ago, with facial pain, never ending sinus infections and unable to breath through my nose. A CT scan showed what was damaged ( blocked sinuses, deviated septum etc) and I had functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) to sort it out. Not only can I breath through my nose again, but my general health is better than it was.
Yes see you Gp and ask to see a nasal specialist ( I can’t remember the proper name). Good luck,!
