Should I make an emergency appointment?

Hi, I'm hoping for some advice.

I have a 'routine' doctor's appointment for this coming Friday (31st), which has been booked for a few weeks (the first available they had!)

I have a very strange rash on my hands. It started on my fingers but has now spread to my hands, wrists and forearms. When it first appeared a few weeks ago, my skin would be very itchy then I'd get a patch raised bumps with little pits(?) in the top. Then it would crust over, but not heal. I have also developed a more 'normal' looking rash in the same area, just a load of raised spots but not all clustered together.

I'm covered in these strange patches of angry red, raised collection of very small bumps. They itch like crazy, keeping me up/waking my up at night. I get a searing pain in my skin whenever I try to wash my hands or apply any cream, even the contact of my skin against material when I'm just resting my hands/arms is unbearable. They are weeping and I'm pretty sure they're infected.

I'm not using any different products in my personal care or around the home. Nothing is making any difference to the rash, I've tried sudocream, E45, antihistamines, Cansten and OTC steroid cream.

I know it's not an emergency (hence the routine appointment) but I can't stand it any longer, and I'm worried about infection. Should I make an emergency doctors appointment? Obviously I won't be able to be seen until Tuesday.

I also have an intense headache, but I think that's probably pregnancy hormones (not at all relevant but I just want to tell everyone!!)

The doctor said scabies at first glance, but then had a closer look and thinks it's eczema which has got infected. He said pregnancy could be the trigger... Weird though, as I didn't have anything like this when pregnant with DS.

I've got an antibiotic and steroid cream and a strong moisturiser to use.

Thanks everyone for your support Smile

Thanks for update. Hope it gets better very soon.

Glad you are bring treated. Pregnant hormones can do strange things! I found pregnancy stops my hay fever however makes me very allergic to several toiletries that I can usually use

I had psoriasis until I became pregnant. It went away entirely when I was expecting, and hasn't been back since. Pregnancy hormones can be a passion in the arse or a blessing. Incidentally, my psoriatic brother was indignant that I could overcome the condition by being pregnant. He actually thought that being pregnant was preferable to having reasonably mild psoriasis Hmm

Dionysus78 haha at your brother, how lovely it must be to be that naive and never have to know any different!! I'm already feeling sickly unless I eat every half hour or so Confused

JLG19, when I was vomitty I kept it at bay by thinking about oranges. Or Terry's chocolate oranges.

I think it's pompholyx to. I had it for years, was given various lotions and potions but by accident found a shampoo called Capasal calmed and cleared it. It's a bit smelly (tar like) but it was a miracle. Best check it's safe to use when pregnant. Pretty sure it is though. Congratulations by the way.

Thank you woodentopped. If the cream the Dr gave me doesn't help, I'll have a look for Capasal.
