Started a new role in co. Involves a fair amount of keyboard work. I thought I'd be ok but I'm coming home with pain in elbows, hands wrists etc. I have had problems before years ago

Trying not to use ipad at home etc but feeling anxious, and upset.

I still have to do things at home

There may be slightly less typing as I am setting up stuff and had some things to help e.g. mouse.

Anyone managed to overcome this. It's so distressing as my brain can do work but not my body

Have a read of the HSE guidance on workstation assessments www.hse.gov.uk/msd/dse/assessment.htm I'm lucky enough to work for a company who insist we carry out assessments regularly; and I use a curved/natural keyboard to help with hand positioning.

But if you've had similar problems before, I'm surprised you wouldn't know about keyboard and monitor positioning, options for keyboard and mouse, gel wrist-rests etc??

If you've only just returned to heavy keyboard work, some of the ache may simply be down to tiredness, same as your legs and feet might ache after a long walk.

There has been some assistance at work with gel pads etc but it still has hurt me and I have tendinitis etc so it is a real worry. I can't always rest at home and I don't go to work to be injured.

Thanks for link

What really helped me was switching my mouse to the left hand. Feels awkward at first but you will be surprised you get used to it really fast and it feels natural in no time. Like the other poster said, if you used a raised gel wrist rest and make sure your chair is at the right height etc.

I may buy a splint tomorrow. I have been referred to a physio
