Paramol.

DrNortherner · 04/06/2007 15:58

Ibruprofen?

Have you been to teh dentist? Tootache is teh worst. Clove oil is supposed to be good.

ahundredtimes · 04/06/2007 15:59

If you put clove oil on it, sort of numbs the pain, and the whole of your mouth, and you feel sick. But is local pain relief. . . .

Mercy · 04/06/2007 16:00

Oil of cloves if you have any - rub it on your gum and avoid dropping any on your tongue. There is also an acu-pressure point which seems to help- I'll have to check in my book first though.

Poor you

If you have a hole in your tooth causing the pain. It sometimes helps to put a blob of sensodyne toothpaste in the hole.

Nurofen Plus.
Whisky to numb pain and help you sleep.
Emergency dentist. You can also see gp who might give you something for the pain.
Rubbing toothpaste on the gums can be soothing too

lucyellensmum · 04/06/2007 16:04

you can take paracetemol and ibruprofen at the same time, also, why not try one of the baby gels, worked for me one time. If all else fails, gin! Get along to the dentist though.

Thanks, I'm seeing the dentist on wednesday. I think it's an abcess... . I'll go for the paracetamol and ibuprofen combo then. Will look for the oil of cloves too. Thanks

OK - shiatsu remedy; use your index finger and press the skin immediatley next to your left nostril (there's a little grrove there). Apply pressure for between 3 and 5 seconds.

Hope you feel better soon. Toothache is just awful.

francagoestohollywood · 04/06/2007 16:13

I love shiatsu, it saved me from a horrid stiff neck (years ago).

tinymum · 04/06/2007 16:23

Paramol is one of the strongest painkillers you can get without prescription.

NannyL · 04/06/2007 16:25

something with codein in it

and iburpofen.

LIZS · 04/06/2007 17:22

I was prescribed Paracetamol and cdiene after my dental op. also try Corsodyl gel or spray on the sore spot and warm to hot salt water rinses.

Good luck for Wednesday. Hope you haven't got what I had .... dead tooth, sinus (pusy ulcery sort of thing), root canal, apiesectomy(No DON'T Google it) .... oddly I had relatively little pain.

Blu · 04/06/2007 17:31

If you're taking two different types of painkiller, 'leapfrog' them so that one is kicking in halfway between the dose times of the other, rather than taking them together, iyswim.

francagoestohollywood · 04/06/2007 20:12

Thanks everybody. I bought some ibuprofen and remembered I had some anti-inflammatory meds from Italy, so at the moment the pain seems under control.
