I'm interested as to whether any of you have any explanantions of a change in pre-menstrual symptoms I've had.

Although not trying for a baby right now, I'm especially interested because I have had 2 missed miscarriages over the last couple of years and the symptoms seem to have begun since these occured.

Having always had painful and heavy-ish, very regular periods (to the day and hour) with slight teariness/grumpiness in the days before I am now experiencing the following:

Period starts in the right week but day is variable.
There are several days of pink/brown dishcharge before bleeding begins (never like this before).
I am considerably more moody, finding I have a very short fuse and even finding myself swearing more than usual (Not shouting 'f' words at people but if I drop something I'm more likely to say shit or fck even if the children might hear).
I get a bad headache the day before AF and have even had the odd migraine for the first time in my life.
Serious, serious carbs cravings to the point where I can put on all weight loss from previous month in the week of my period. I never reach my elusive 8lb 7st ideal weight as a result.

The last two bother me most and I am also worried irrationally about things like early menopause as these are quite marked changes foe me after 20 years of my period being the same, even after childbirth. (I've 3 dcs).

Help!

I would get this checked out by your GP and if they are of no use insist that you are referred to a gynae. Any unusual bleeding should be reported and medical advice sought.

The heavy and painful periods (particularly if the problem is longstanding) should be investigated further to ascertain the cause. In this regard either endometriosis and or fibroids may be to blame.

Thanks Attila. You are quite right that I should probably see GP, I just never make time for myself inthis way.

Consider your post a kick up the bum! Thank you.
