Sensitive stomach

Does anyone else suffer from a ridiculously sensitive stomach?
And any tips?
If I’m nervous then I have to rush for a poo numerous times and it’s usually diarrhoea.
If I eat certain things then it’s the same situation.
Too much sweetener, too many carbs, too much fat.
If my meals are too big.
If I eat on a sofa so I’m not as upright as at a table.
Now it’s happening if I exercise for too long. Sorry for tmi but it’s literally watery undigested food.
I go shivery all over, tingle down my legs, get horrific stomach cramps and have to be on the loo within 5 minutes when I happens.
I feel like I can’t/shouldn’t be taking Imodium on a daily basis.
All tests for celiac come back negative.

My first thought is that you should avoid any and all artificial sweeteners like the plague. I discovered years ago that I have a complete intolerance to them, and they are in more products than you might realize. Secondly, have you been tested for allergies? If you have one and don't know it, you are literally poisoning yourself every day by eating something that makes you reactive.

I can't touch artificial sweeteners, they all go straight through me.

What an absolute nightmare!! Get all tests done but could be you have really bad IBS. X

Yes I definitely think I’m sensitive to some artificial sweeteners. Although I can drink Coke Zero and I’m fine, but the pink lemonade lucozade really affects me.
I tried cutting out gluten before, which made no difference.
I also go through periods where I’ll feel sick every day for weeks and weeks.
Doctors won’t allergy test me so I think I may go private.
But it just seems that my body gets used to different things. If I am on a diet and doing low ish low fat foods for a week, and then eat a bar of chocolate or greasy takeaway then I’ll have a really bad stomach for a few days.
Think it’s just a case of sensitive stomach to be honest!

You sound like me..I have chrons.
Have a google and see if it fits? If so, ask the GP to run a faecal calprotectin test, this is a test that will identify if you have inflammatory bowel disease (chrons or ulcerative colitis)

Just looked at Crohns symptoms and I don’t think they massively fit. I’m not underweight, about 10lb overweight and struggle to lose weight. I do get tired, but I’m at work at 6.30am a few days a week and have 2 preschoolers.
I think if anything it’s IBS with anxiety on the top.
Drives me potty though!

I'm 15 stone..not everyone with chrons is underweight!

rainbowstardrops · 08/08/2018 08:14

I'm pretty much the same too. My stomach has always been a bit dodgy but it's been much worse for the past month or so.

I'm quite bad in the morning and have to rush to the loo several times with a result similar to you and then it gradually settles as the day progresses.

Dinner doesn't usually affect me. Just mainly breakfast/lunch. I have no idea what's going on

Calledyoulastnightfromglasgow · 08/08/2018 08:17

Have you been properly checked for chrohns or similar?

You need to push for this

Then I think you could try to clear up your diet eg Whole30
