Taking Co codamol and amiltryptaline to Majorca

If I take the medication in its boxes and a copy of my prescription from the pharmacy, will this be sufficient or do I need a doctors letter? There must be loads of people like me with chronic pain conditions who take medicine abroad. Any comments or experiences please?

My understanding is that they must be in the original packaging with prescription label on (with your name on the label obviously).

Thank you for replying, this is what I think as well. It is really hard to find conclusive information from some reason x

I took Cocodamol, Gabapentin, and Lanzaprozole to Spain and had no problems or even questions! I left the tablets in their boxes and put them in my hand luggage. They went straight through the Xray machines and no one said anything to me. You should be fine Smile.

I take cocodamol, antidepressant, Gabapentin, two heart drugs, and various others abroad every year and have never been questioned about them. I dont even take them in their boxes, otherwise they would need their own suitcaseGrin i put them in a clear ziplock bag

I do take my prescription with me

Never a problem. They don’t sell co codamol but most other things are available no script

My daft dp arrived in Spain no blood pressure and ad meds. Once we got the names of the meds the pharmacy dispensed it no problem.

I have flown loads of times with my medication (similar to yours op) I set mine out into pill holders because I take a lot and it helps me to take them at the right time on bad days.

I just pack the number of days I need- have never been stopped or had any questions about them.

Never thought it could be a problem until I read about it previously on here and intended to take my repeat slip with me but forgot it. There was no problem.

Thank you all Smile

Another one here who takes half a pharmacy when I travel. I also take it in the original packaging, with a copy of my repeat medication, in my hand luggage. Never had a problem yet 😁

Like others, I've taken my cocodamol, heart and lung medications abroad. One word of caution, if you have any liquid medication place it in your clear plastic bag with other liquids. I forgot to do it once and was pulled aside. Once they realised what it was they waved me on and told me to remember to put it with the other liquids next time.

CrochetBelle · 02/08/2018 19:28

I travelled with three types of controlled drug, all in correct packaging and accompanying paperwork and wasn't questioned at all.

Thank you. I don't fancy paying £20 for a letter from my go when it seems it's not necessary.
